Watch Our Video to Against the U.S. Colombia FTA

With the debate over the U.S.-Colombia Free Trade Agreement (FTA) intensifying, we’re pulling out all the stops to make our message heard. This week we’re taking over the internet and we need your help!

Watch our new two minute video opposing the U.S.-Colombia FTA and then spread the word about it:

In this short video, activists in the United States and Colombia ask tough questions about the harm that the U.S.-Colombia Free Trade Agreement would create if passed. If you are looking for a simple way to educate your community about this issue or are prepping for a phone call to your elected officials, this is a great two minute summary of the reasons why we are opposing this trade agreement.

After watching and "liking" the video, please help us get more views:

Share it with all your networks! Send it out with a short note by email, twitter, facebook, youtube, or change.org. Here is the direct link you can send around: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIbOvYmlj94

If you want a tiny link, use: http://bit.ly/k5mFPy and tag all your posts with #NoColombiaFTA so we can see all the action happening on social networking sites.

Here’s a sample tweet: Check out this 2 minute bilingual video about why people in the U.S. and Colombia are saying #NoColombiaFTA http://bit.ly/k5mFPy

And if you’re a social networking enthusiast:

Join our friends at the Presbyterian Peace Fellowship (PPF) who will be tweeting at legislators and writing on President Obama’s facebook wall today and tomorrow asking them to not move forward with the FTA. Not only have they organized hundreds of people of faith to fast this week to protest the U.S.-Colombia FTA, but PPF has also come up with a great social media strategy that can be used by any activist. Click here to check it out and start posting now.

Thanks for your efforts and keep up the great work!

Best,
Vanessa and Lisa, LAWG Colombia Team
