U.S. Policy

The U.S. government has provided Colombia with nearly five billion dollars in foreign aid since 2000 through “Plan Colombia.” Eighty percent of the aid destined for Colombia each year goes directly to Colombian police and military, while only 20 percent is economic aid. Drug Policy
