The Latin America Working Group Education Fund Cuba Program is excited to invite you to attend the public presentation of a new LAWGEF publication on academic exchange with Cuba. Please see the flyer below, and join us. This new report, Retreat from Reason: U.S-Cuban Academic Relations and the Bush Administration, written by an international team of U.S. and Cuban scholars, examines the history of and regulations on academic, scientific, and cultural exchange between the United States and Cuba. The report demonstrates that, “throughout the more than forty years of economic sanctions against Cuba, it [has been] scholars and scientists in the two countries who have maintained intellectual and academic relations.” These efforts have contributed to a greater understanding between our two peoples. We hope to see you there. Click here to read the full document (pdf). Click here to order a hard copy of the document.
