Do you live in New Hampshire? Are you tired of seeing
your tax dollars going to fund an inhumane drug war and a brutal military
in Colombia? Now is a great time to help bring national attention
to this issue and to call for a new US-Colombia policy. Attend
a town meeting in your area (see the candidates' websites for a schedule
of where they will be speaking next) and ask a question:
Three years ago, the US decided to give money to a brutal
military in Colombia to fight drugs at the source. $3.5 billion later,
the DEA says that cocaine availability in New Hampshire has increased.
Budget cuts have closed fourteen of our drug treatment centers in the
last ten years. [Candidate’s name], I think US policy in Colombia
is ineffective, and that our money is better spent at home. I also don't
think the Colombian military is an appropriate partner for the United
States. I would like to hear your position on this policy.
