Date: Oct 11, 2019

The Latin America Working Group—together with the Washington Office on Latin America, Oxfam, Peace Brigades International, the Colombia Human Rights Network, and other organizations—created the following policy memo, which outlines the promises of and challenges for peace in Colombia over two years after the signing of the peace agreement between the Colombian government and the FARC. The April 2019 memo recommends ways the United States can contribute to sustainable solutions to preserve Colombia’s fragile peace.

In September 2019, we sent a letter to the new U.S. ambassador to Colombia calling on him to prioritize peace and reinforcing many of the messages of the Wake-Up Call.

Below you can find an Executive Summary and the full text of the Wake-Up Call in English and Spanish.
