Update: This rally was a success! Over 200 people attended and garnered a lot of media around our opposition. To listen to coverage of the rally on the radio, click here.

Get your signs and noisemakers ready! There will be an emergency demonstration opposing the U.S.-Colombia Free Trade Agreement (FTA) outside the White House next Monday July 11th at 12pm (noon). We would love to have you there.

Can you make it?

The Obama Administration may move the U.S.-Colombia Free Trade Agreement forward as soon as this month unless they really face some resistance. If you believe that human rights should NOT be sacrificed on the altar of free trade, we need your help to make sure this FTA does not pass!

Please join us and our allies at this important demonstration in Washington, D.C. on July 11th.

Where:   Lafayette Park (right in front of the White House)
When:
12 pm (noon) on Monday, July 11
Who:      Well-known speakers from the U.S. and Colombia and activists like you from across the country!
What:     Hundreds of people calling for fair trade, not free trade, using strong words and powerful visuals to honor the trade unionists, community leaders, and human rights defenders murdered in recent years in Colombia because they stood up for rights that will be further undermined if this FTA passes.

Not able to make it to DC? You can still make your voice heard by participating in the National Call-in Day to STOP the U.S.-Colombia FTA that will be happening on the same day as the rally (Monday, July 11).

Just follow this simple three-step process to make your call:

Step 1—Call the Congressional Switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and ask to be connected to your member of Congress. If you don’t know who that is, just provide your address and the operator will automatically connect you.
Step 2—Once connected, tell the aide who answers that you urge your member of Congress to oppose the U.S.-Colombia Free Trade Agreement.
Step 3—After you’ve made the call, tell us how it went through this website.

Wherever you are, please take 2 minutes to call on July 11th, or better yet, get a head start and call now!
