Host a “Face the Displaced” Poster-making Party

Sample FacePlease join us in exposing our hemisphere's hidden humanitarian crisis by hosting a "Face the Displaced" gathering. It’s hard to be apathetic when you’re looking injustice straight in the eye. So this year we’re creating large portraits of forty brave displaced people who have shared their photos and words with us in hopes that it will help us involve our communities in making change in U.S. policies towards Colombia. (See example at right).

By hosting a gathering, you and your guests have the opportunity to learn from Colombians' moving stories while framing each photo with a message to President Obama, asking that the United States focus on supporting the displaced and those working for peace in Colombia, rather military tactics and fumigations.

Here is your packet with everything you'll need to make your "Face the Displaced" gathering a success (due to the large file size, it may take a minute to download.):

Once you've set your time and place, make sure to register your event by clicking here. This is a tool that helps you to get the word out in your city and track your guests, while also helping communities across the country see how many events are going on.

Thanks so much to our partner Witness for Peace for creating the materials!
