Letter to the President

Three members of Congress have sent a letter to President Obama supporting his intentions to ease travel restrictions on U.S. citizens to travel to Cuba. The speculated changes can only liberalize already existing categories of travel. Ending the travel ban entirely can only occur by an act of Congress.

Congressman McGovern (D-MA), Congresswoman Emerson (R-MO), and Congresswoman DeLauro (D-CT) sent a letter to the President supporting his intention to liberalize categories of travel, and also calling on the President to voice his support for HR 4645, legislation that ends the travel ban definitively for ALL U.S. citizens and facilitates obstacles associated with agricultural sales to Cuba.
