All across the country activists are coming together to stop the U.S.-Colombia Free Trade Agreement (FTA). Check out these resources we’ve compiled on opposing the FTA, and get involved!
Whether you only have enough time to send an email or you want to visit your member of congress in person, this is the moment to make your voice heard!
Senators will be in their districts this upcoming week, May 30 to June 5. Then your member in the House of Representatives will be home the following week, June 6 to June 12. So it’s the perfect time for you to get in touch if you haven’t already!
If you’re feeling ambitious, schedule a meeting. Just call their local offices to set it up. (You can find the contact information at www.house.gov and www.senate.gov.) Or you can also attend a town hall meeting during these recesses to tell them what you think and ask them tough questions about the Colombia FTA.
And you don’t have to do it alone. Click here to check out a list of organizers in cities across the country, who are planning lobby meetings and demonstrations that you could join. Some groups are holding planning calls as early as today, so don’t delay!
