Ana works on issues related to Colombia, Cuba, and Central America and also serves as our financial associate. Born in Trujillo, Peru to Peruvian and Argentinian parents, she immigrated to the United States as a child. She graduated from American University with a B.A. in International Studies and a double minor in Communications and Spanish. She was one of a handful of individuals selected to participate in the Public Policy and International Affairs Fellowship at Carnegie Mellon University. In the past, Ana has advocated for Indigenous rights at the Guatemala Solidarity Project through nonviolent organizing to build long term solidarity with several dozen Indigenous and peasant communities and helped manage the refugee resettlement store for the International Rescue Committee. Her personal experiences as an immigrant in this country have pushed her to elevate the voices of marginalized communities by fighting for policies that guarantee justice and protect human rights.
