Negative Consequences of Ending Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for U.S. Investment in El Salvador and Honduras

This document focuses on the negative impacts of ending Temporary Protected Status (TPS) in terms of repercussions of underminingU.S.foreign policy interests and investments in Central America. This is not to overlook the profound human, economic, and social costs to the United States of ending TPSfor people who have deep roots in this country. These costs have been thoroughly documented, in studies by Immigrant Legal Resource Center (ILRC) and American Immigration Council (AIC), and by researchers at the Center for Migratory Research at theUniversity of Kansas, with the support of migrant organizations.
