We’ve been sounding the alarm with you calling on the Biden Administration to fully restore access to asylum and to treat migrants and our immigrant community members with dignity and respect. Immigrants are our friends, neighbors, colleagues, and over the course of this pandemic they’ve proven just how essential they are to daily life in this country. Amidst all the uncertainty and challenges they remained on the frontlines and it’s well past time we recognize their work and have policies that protect them.
That’s why on International Workers’ Day this Saturday May 1st we’re joining our partners for an Immigrant Rights Rally!
Please join us at 11am in front of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection headquarters in DC at 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue NW at the intersection of 14th ST NW & D ST NW for a rally and march to the Capitol.
We’ll be raising our voices with the #WelcomeWithDignity campaign that LAWG is a part of and joining forces with the #WeAreHome campaign, demanding justice for millions of immigrants who have been forgotten and calling on our lawmakers and the administration to create a humane asylum system that prioritizes compassion and dignity.
Join us in solidarity this Saturday! Don’t forget your mask, sunscreen, marching shoes, and rallying call! Can’t make it? Promote the event to your network! Here’s a draft tweet. Immigrants belong here. An asylum system restored. Compassion. Dignity. Respect. Let’s go get it. |
