Tania Del Moral serves as the Program Assistant for Mexico and Central America — advocating for migrant rights, forced disappearances, and the protection of human rights defenders. As a Mexican-American with strong ties to Veracruz, Mexico, Tania hopes to bring her lived experiences in Mexico to LAWG. She holds a B.A in Politics and International Affairs from Wake Forest University, where she conducted research on gendered political violence in Mexico and published an academic journal on language and violence against Mexican women. Tania is also passionate about the intersection between the arts and politics: she spearheaded a diversity, equity, and inclusion university initiative which pushed for students of color to be included in the arts. Through this position, Tania will support projects to address and fight for just policies in Latin America and promote empathy in policymaking.
